Typescript of the included cassette sound tapes. The speech was given at the meeting of the Military History Society of Utah on 11 March 1992. Jacobsen tells about his experience in the United States Army in World War II in combat and as a prisoner of war. He fought in the Philippines against the Japanese, participated in the infamous "Death March" as a prisoner, and was in prisoner-of-war camps in the Philippines and in Japan.
